Given,

Four times the sum of twice a number and 6 = 32.

To find,

The number.

Solution,

Firstly, let this number be x.

Then, the twice of this number = 2x.

The sum of 2x and 6 will be = (2x + 6).

Now, it is given that multiplying 4 by the sum of 2x and 6 will be equal to 32. So, mathematically, this can be expressed as follows.

4(2x + 6) = 32

(2x + 6) = \frac{32}{4}

2x + 6 = 8

2x  = 2

x = 1.

Therefore, the number for which four times the sum of twice a number and six is 32, is 1.
