so, their age ratio = 4:1 (M:D)

6 years later their ratio of ages will be :- 5:2 (M:D)

so,

4:1

5:2

(5-4) = (2-1) = 1

value of this 1 is = 4+6 = 10 ,

so, their ages 4 years before was = 4*10 : 1*10 = 40:10

so, their present age = 40+4 & 10+4 = 44 & 14 (Ans)

so, mother present age is 44 years and daughter present age is 14 years .
