Four years ago, Amit was twice as old as he was 9 years ago. Find his present age

Answer :

Let the age of amit be x

Then ,

x - 4 =2 (x-9)

x - 4 = 2x - 18

x - 2x = - 18 + 4

- x = - 14

x = 14

Therefore the present age of amit is 14 years.
