A king felt greatly distressed as all his people were very lazy. Nobody was prepared to work. He wanted to teach them a lesson. Therefore, he had a big Stone placed right in the middle of the road. Many merchants passed by,looked at the stone,made a face and went round it. An officer who was driving his carriage avoided the stone and moved away. A young soldier came riding. He did not bother to remove the stone and went away straight. Everybody criticised the government for not getting the stone removed. The stone kept lying on the road for more than a week. Finally,the king called all his men and ordered his his servants to remove the stone in front of them. Under the stone they found an iron box marked ‘For the man who removes the stone’. The king opened the iron box and inside it were a hundred pieces of gold. He told his people that since all of them were lazy and did not bother to remove the stone, nobody deserved the reward. He carried the box away and his people felt greatly ashamed.

MORAL- Laziness Never Pays.
