1. My mother had to run to the store and I was supposed to look after my little sister. This was a task I always tried to run away from. It's true that my sister is so cute and adorable, but looking after her for several hours meant one definite result; headaches. Her nonstop talking, high pitched tone, ear-piercing screams and mischievous behavior always drove me out of my mind.

Midnight was her favourite time to start crying as loud as possible. Nobody knows how many sleepless nights I have had to spend because of this. The previous night had been the same and I was longing so much for a nap. But I couldn't sleep while I was all alone at home with my four year old sister. So I started to read a book.

I had just finished two pages when my sister came to me and said that her ball had gone under the bed and she wanted me to get it for her. I did what she asked and once again sat down to read. Five minutes later, she was there in my room again with a sober face.

"Where's mom?", she asked. "Not at home." I replied. "Then would you play with me?" she asked me. Right then I wasn't in a mood to go and play with a toddler. So I told her to play with her doll, hoping that she would leave me alone. But she said, "I made her go to sleep. She can't play in her sleep, so you have to come and play with me." "I told you once I cannot", I told her. Then she pinched me hard, pulled my hair and started to scream her head off. I grew furious and yelled as loud as possible, ,"If you don't stop screaming this minute, I'll lock you up in your room till mom returns home. You know I don't like anybody disturbing me when I'm reading, so clear off my room and do whatever you want with that silly doll of yours! Don't dare to speak another word with me!" She stared at me for a moment and then stamped out of my room.

Several minutes went by. I heard a noise from the kitchen. I didn't bother to check what it was, because I was in the best part of my book. Finally when I had finished the whole book, I decided to go and see what my troublesome little sister was doing in the kitchen. Before entering the kitchen, I heard her humming the song 'Humpty Dumpty'. I was planning to make up for all the yelling by a surprise hug. But I stopped panic- stricken when I saw what my sister was doing.

She had taken all the eggs out and had placed them on the dining table. Singing 'Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall', she placed one egg on the edge of the table. Then singing 'Humpty Dumpty had a great fall', she pushed the egg down the table so that it broke into pieces on the kitchen floor. Apparantly she had been doing this for a considerable amount of time because the kitchen floor was covered with egg yolk and pieces of egg shells.

I was speechless. I was going to yell at her again saying "Hasn't mother advised you not to take anything out of the kitchen without asking somebody?" but I didn't say anything. That was the day I realized how tricky my little sister was. Since the day she watched humpty dumpty, she had been curious about eggs. Our mother, who suspected this beforehands, had asked her not to take anything from the kitchen without asking someone. She had known perfectly well that even if she asked someone, she would not get a chance to lay her hands on the eggs. But how could she ask anybody when the only other person in the house had told her not to speak? She had taken the advantage of the situation.

Very well, now as anybody can guess, my little sister had a very good excuse for what she did, and I was the one who got busted when mother returned. After that, I always think twice before saying anything in front of my not-so-tricky sister.
