Answer:
THE FOOLISH DONKEY
Once upon a time, there was a salt vendor. he had a donkey to help him around to carry goods. the donkey's back was loaded with bags of salt to sell it to customers. the vendor went to surrounding villages with his donkey, crossed several streams and small rivers. While he was crossing one, the donkey accidently tumbled in fell in the water. the salt in the bags got dissolved in water and the burden on the donkey's back felt much lighter. Next day, they went out on usual trip with salt bags loaded on the donkey's back. While crossing a stream he remembered the last day's incident and took a dip in the water and the burden felt lighter. The vendor noticed that the quantity of salt decreases everyday which results in less profit. So he decided to teach the donkey a lesson. The next day, the vendor loaded the donkey with bales of cotton instead of salt. The foolish donkey once again took a dip in water. but this time the instead of getting lighter, the weight became much heavier as the cotton soaked the water. He struggled very hard to come out and realized the lesson. that day onwards he gave up the trick of dipping in water.
Answer: There was a salt vendor in a village. He used to buy salt from a nearby town. He had a donkey to carry this salt load. There were many streams to be crossed to reach the town.
One day, the vendor was returning after his purchase.
The donkey was loaded with salt bags. While they were crossing a stream, accidentally the donkey slipped and fell into the stream. A lot of salt got dissolved in the water. When the donkey got up the load became very light.
From that day, whenever the vendor returned from town after salt purchase, the donkey began to tumble half-way across one stream or the other. The vendor became suspicious.
Once the vendor purchased bales of cotton and loaded his donkey with bales of cotton. The donkey felt the load to be unusually light. He thought "Today, I am going to tumble and this load is going to become much lighter".
On their way home, as usual, the donkey tumbled and fell into a stream. But alas! When the donkey tried to get up, the load pulled the donkey down. The cotton had absorbed water and become heavier.
The vendor gave hard beatings to make the donkey get up and walk. From then on, the donkey never tumbled while crossing streams.
