Diameter = 28 cm
Radius = 28/2 = 14
Height = 17 cm
Height including margins = 17 + 2 + 2 = 21 cm

LSA of the cylinder = 2πrh
LSA = 2 × 22/7 × 14 × 21
LSA = 924 cm²

But, since 1/12 of cloth is wasted

Total cloth reqd. = 924 + 1/12(924)
= 924 + 77
= 1001 cm²
