3+1/2x=14

1/2x=11
x=22

3+1/2*22=14

let the number be x
half \: of \: a \: number \: added \: to \: 3 \\   \frac{x}{2}  + 3
it gives 14.
therefore,the equation will be
 \frac{x}{2}   + 3 = 14
 \frac{x}{2}  = 14 - 3
 \frac{x}{2}  = 11
x=11×2

Therefore,
x = 22
is the Answer.
