sin age =x
according to the question
3x+x=60
4x=60
x=60/4
x= 15
son's age = 15 years
rahul's age = 45 years

Let Rahul's age be x and that of his son be y, then according to d given condition -:

x = 3y
x/3 = y
x + y = 60
x + x/3 = 60
3x+x/3 = 60
4x/3 = 60
x = 60*3/4
x = 45

Rahul's age is 45 years !!
