Frame the equations for the following, if the length of the rectangle

is taken as x cm and the breadth as y cm.

sum of the length and twice the breadth is 28

Equation is x + y = 28

The perimeter of the rectangle is 40 cm.

Equation is x + y = 20

The difference between the length and breadth is 4 cm.

The equation is - = 4

x+y =28

= ×+2×=28

=3× =28

=×=28/3

length = 28 /3 +2 = 30 /3= 10

breadth = 28/3
