Frank will need to purchase 4 bottles of juice.

Explanation

Suppose, the number of 1-gallon bottles of juice, Frank will need to purchase =x

1 gallon = 4 quarts and 1 quart = 32 fluid ounces

So,  1 gallon = (4×32) fluid ounces = 128 fluid ounces.

The total amount of juice in x bottles will be: 128x fluid ounces.

There are 35 juice cups and each juice cup holds 12 fluid ounces. So, the total amount of juice in all 35 cups will be: (12*35)=420 fluid ounces.

So, the equation will be.........

128x=420\\ \\ x=\frac{420}{128}=3.28125 \approx 4

(As juice comes in 1-gallon bottles)

Thus, Frank will need to purchase 4 bottles of juice.
