Explanation:

Given Fraunhofer diffraction from a single-slit of width 1.24×10^-6m is observed with light of wavelength 6200 A. calculate the angular width of the central maximum

Width of slit = 1.24 x 10^-6 m

Wavelength λ = 6200 x 10^-10 m

We know that

Angular width of central maximum Z θ = 2 λ / d

                                                                  = 2 x 6200 x 10^- 10 / 1.24 x 10^-6

                                                                  = 10^10 x 10^-10

                So we have Z θ = 1
