Freddie the frog is climbing up a well. Every day he climbs up 3 m but some nights he falls asleep and slips back 4 m. At the start of the sixteenth day, he has climbed a total of 29 m. On how many nights was he asleep?

At the start of the sixteenth day,this makes it clear that the frog has only climbed for 15 days.

15days×3m=45 m

The total distance if he didn't slip down for some nights.

45m-29m=16m

Since 29m is the total distance the frog climbed including the distance he fell back.

16m÷4m=4days

Divide by the distance he fell,each night he fell asleep.

The answer is 4 days.
