v^2 = 2 g h as u = 0 for freely falling body.

For velocity to be double, height dropped/ distance h has to be 4 times.

So the body has to fall further 3 h distance.

AmV: The question states that it has already fallen a height so it must have achieved a velocity. So we cant say that u is 0
kvnmurty: u = 0 is the i initial at t=0... Velocity is v (not u) after falling height h and at time t = v/g.
kvnmurty: Velocity = 2v after falling a further 3h ie. After falling total 4h distance.
AmV: I took v as initial velocity for that time frame
