Given : Fresh fruit contains 75% water and dry fruit contains 20% of water.

To find : How many kg dry fruit can be obtained from 96 kg of fresh fruit ?

Solution :

As fresh fruit contain 75% of water  96 kilograms fresh fruits,

i.e. \frac{75}{100}\times 95= 71.25

It contain 71.25 kg of water.

So, 95-71.25=23.75 kg of dried portion.

In dry fruits, we have  20 %  of water

i.e. 95-20=75%

As such  75  parts of dried portion makes  95 parts of dry fruits

So, 1 part of dried portion makes  \frac{95}{75} parts of dry fruits

and  23.75 kg of dried portion makes  \frac{95}{75}\times 23.75 kg. of dry fruits

i.e. \frac{95}{75}\times 23.75=30.083

Hence,  95 kg. of fresh fruits have  30.083 kg. of dry fruits in them.
