you already know, pH of

  • neutral solution is 7 ,
  • acidic solution is less than 7
  • basic solution is greater than 7

smaller the value of pH, higher will be acidic in nature.

here given, pH of milk is 6 [ of course it is acidic as 6 < 7 ] as milk turns into curd, lactic acid is formed due to which it becomes more acidic . and therefore pH of milk will reduce when it turns into curd.

in simple language, we can say that As milk turns into curd, pH will fall below 6. This is because an acid is produced when milk turns into curd.
