Fresh milk has a ph of 6. How does the ph will change as it turns to curd? Explain your answer.​

When milk is converted into curd than its pH will decrease from 6 to pH vue like 5 or 4 because curd contains lactic acid which is acidic in nature and acid have have lower pH so curd will also have lower pH than fresh ilk also because fresh milk do not have lactic acid. Ir contains lactose which is converted into lactic acid which slightly lower the pH value of curd.

Now as given that the fresh milk have a pH of 6 , But as it is converted into curd there is a change in pH.

Reason :- As we know that the action of lactobacillus (a bacteria) changes the milk into curd .

The lactobacillus convert the lactose in present in the milk to lactic acid .

Now as there is conversion of lactose into lactic acid , the milk becomes more Acidic .

Thus there is more dissociation of H+ Ion in the milk .

So the pH of milk decreases .
