Friction is a necessary evil. Comment on it?

friction is a necessary evil. without friction life on earth would not be possible. we would not be able to walk ,drive,write or even hold objects. friction though has many ill effects like it causes loss of energy wear and tear etc

Frictional force causes a lot of losses in general upkeep and wear and tear of machinery. Hence it is considered as a evil. But almost all crucial tasks cannot be carried out without the presence of friction. ... Hence it is considered as a necessary evil .
