Given: Friday, Lisa spent five hours completing her mathematics homework, science homework and drawing a picture. She spends one-fifth of the time doing her mathematics homework and two-fifth of the time doing science homework and the rest of the time drawing a picture.

To Find: How much time did she use to complete her mathematics homework and draw a picture.

Solution:

Total hours spent by Lisa= 5 hours

Time spent by Lisa on maths = 5×1/5 = 1 hour

Time spent by Lisa on science = 5× 2/5 = 2 hours

Time spent by Lisa drawing pictures = 5-(1+2)

= 2 hours

Therefore, the time Lisa spent completing her mathematics homework and drawing a picture = 1+2 = 3 hours

Therefore, the time Lisa took to complete her mathematics homework and to draw a picture is (c) 3 Hours.
