There’s a big difference between family and friends. We don’t choose our family; we learn to live with them. On the other hand, we choose our friends based on our preferences and our shared interests and because we feel good when we’re with them.

Family and friends both are very important.It's very true that family always loves you and cares for you unconditionally.Friends may have some selfish reasons also to stick to you.Some people are lucky enough to have true friends as well to hold them in all thinks and thins.I am lucky enough in this regard(touch wood).

But in one condition I feel most families starts behaving many people would have already guessed,Yes,I am talking about love/intercaste marriages.Most of the families would be absolutely OK with love marriages which are intracaste provided the groom/bride suits their preferences.But in an intercaste marriage,this condition is not sufficient? Suddenly they have a very big list of preferences (literally any reason which is not relevant also or which doesn't even matter) to be fulfilled.Basically they search for any reason to say NO to such kind of alliance.

Family wants your betterment.Friends(in most cases ) also want to see you happy. You disclose your relationship to your friends.Friend’s reaction “So happy for you,who the lucky guy/girl.When will I get to meet her?”.Basically friends have logical concerns regarding compatibility even if they see a read flag in your relationship.But family reaction to this situation”Castes are so different,we will not talk about it.What will the society say?”They don't even bother to guage the bride/groom on logical grounds.

Utimately they also want to see you happy right? But I feel this is the basic difference between friends and family!
