a) catching - caught
JUSTIFICATION - Because the following sentence is in passive voice and a sentence which is a passive voice of past continuous follows
was + third form of verb in the sentence.
b) at - in
JUSTIFICATION - I don't really know how to justify..... its like drowning means death due to subermersion in water or inhalation of water. So it's something which happens inside the sea. So it should be in. There are many other reasons as well. I just give you the reason I knew..... :-)
c) were - was
JUSTIFICATION - Ship is singular so it should be was not were.
d) in - at
JUSTIFICATION - This maybe wrong but why i think so it is right is because perish is synonymous to death and we rather than using the phrase "died in sea" we use "died at sea" so being almost of the same meaning it might ought to be "perished at sea" rather than "perished in sea"
e) he - you
JUSTIFICATION - This is based on logic and grammar....... Mostly the first word of your line in editing is right, so aren't has to be right. Even if he is asking about his grandfather it should be "Wasn't he afraid of sea?" And as you can see the sailor is being questioned so it should be 'you' because that makes more sense bcos his grandfather, father they died at sea but still he is sailor so the question should be "Aren't you afraid of the sea?" Because even though he knows that hist fathers died at sea he is still a sailing on the sea.
