Q1. Describe briefly how Shylock becomes an instrument of fate ?
Q2. "All things that are, are with more spirit chased than enjoy'd" How far is this statement brought out by giving the example of a ship?
Q3. What is the 'sinful thoughts'? Why is it so?
Q4. Describe the 'coin' referred to in the extract (Act 2 scene 7, extract 4) . What is the difference between the angle on the coin And the angle in the casket?

1- Shylock having no other profession except money lending pursued to take high interest
he was alienated from the society and due to his materialistic and cruel nature his daughter left and eloped with a Christian .all his propery was lost aftr he showed his most violent nature in the court leaving as a victim to the harshness of fate
2-a ship while leaving it's home port is filled with good and decorated with flags but returns with wind torn sails and wind beaten sides
3-morocco says it was a sinful thought to say that a rich gem like Portia might be in the golden casket
4-the coin was from England and carved with arch angle Michael who was shown standing on a dragon and piercing it
the coin was exposed to all harshness of environment but Portia's portrait was safe in the casket
