Answer :

Given :

1 rupee = 3 chocolates

3 chocolate covers = 1 chocolate

Required to find :

  1. No. of chocolates will be received for 45 rupees

Solution :

It is given that for 1 rupee 3 chocolate will be given and for returning 3 chocolate covers one chocolate will be given .

And, he asked us to find how many chocolates do we receive for 45 rupees.

See, this question is very easy to Solve only you need some calculations and a bit of logic.

Now, coming to the question;

It is stated in the question that for Every one rupees you will given 3 chocolates.

So , No. of chocolates you receive by giving 45 rupees is equal to Amount multipled with No. of chocolates you will receive for 1 receive

That is ,

No. of chocolates you receive by giving money = 45 x 3

= 135

Similarly,

He also mentioned that by giving 3 chocolate covers you will receive 1 chocolate.

So , keeping this in Mind let's solve this question further!

3 chocolate covers = 1 chocolate

similarly,

45 chocolate covers = ?

so , here we have to divide this 45 by 3 so that we can know how many chocolates we can receive.

Therefore,

By giving 45 chocolate covers ,

No. of chocolates received by giving covers = 45/3 = 15

By giving this 15 chocolate covers he will receive 5 chocolate

Again by giving this 5 chocolate 1 and 1

similarly by giving 135 chocolate covers he receive 45 chocolates

Total no. of chocolates will be received for 45 rupees =

No. of chocolates received by giving money + No. of chocolates received by giving covers

=> 135 + 45 + 15 + 5 + 1 + 1

=> 202 chocolates

Therefore,

Total No. of chocolates are 202.

Given:

  • 3 chocolates can be purchased for 1 rupee
  • 1 chocolate is provided in return of 3 chocolate covers

To Find:

Numbers of chocolates which can be obtained by 45 rupees

Solution:

Here, when we return the cover

\sf{No.\:of\:Chocolates\:recieved=\dfrac{No.\:of\:covers}{3}}

Now, firstly we will purchase the chocolates from given rupees, then exchange the covers for chocolates until we left with no covers

Step-1 Purchase the chocolates of ₹45

Chocolates Received,C₁= 45×3= 135

Covers Left= 135

Step-2 Get the chocolate in return of covers

Chocolates Received,C₂= 135/3= 45

Covers Left= 45

Step-3 Again get the chocolate in return of covers

Chocolates Received,C₃= 45/3= 15

Covers Left= 15

Step-4 Again get the chocolate in return of covers

Chocolates Received,C₄= 15/3= 5

Covers Left= 5

Step-5 Now return 3 covers

Chocolates Received,C₅= 3/3= 1

Covers Left= 3

Step-6 Return the covers for one last time

Chocolates Received,C₆= 3/3= 1

Covers Left= 0

So,

Total chocolates received

= C₁+C₂+C₃+C₄+C₅+C₆

= 135+45+15+5+1+1

= 202 chocolates

Hence, we will get 202 chocolates for ₹45.
