Example:

= 2x + 13 = 20

= 2x = 20 - 13 ( as we can see here , we are transposing +13 from LHS to RHS and it has changed into -13 , which means when we change side of a constant in an equation we do it's opposite operation )

=2x = 7

=x = 7/2 ( Here also we can see that when we changed the side of the constant 7 ; +7 changed into -7 , which means that when we changed side of +7 we are doing it's opposite operation , which is -7 )

= x = 3.5

Therefore , with the above example of an equation we can say that the statement -

When we change the side of any variable or constant we do the opposite operation of the same number is TRUE
