Joey eats 1 slice of each pizza means he will eat 12 pizza and his friend eats 2 slices of each pizza so his friend will eat 24 pizza so total no of pizza that has been eaten is 12 + 24 = 36 pizza

Total pizzas are 12 *8 = 96 now , no of pizzas that has been left is total pizzas - eaten pizzas(96 - 36 = 60) so we have to find what fraction of 12 pizzas are left means ( initially 1 pizzas has 8 slices but now each pizza has only 5 slices) it means 5 slices of 1 pizza and 3 slice of other pizza will make one initial pizza

So 60 slices are left and 8 slice will make pizza means now no of initial pizza are 60/8 = 15/2 but we have to find what fraction of 12 pizza are left so 15÷2÷12 = 5/8
