Answer:

Bus fare from bus stand to Malleswaram = Rs. 8

Bus fare from bus stand to Yeshwanthpur  = Rs. 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'x' be the bus fare to Malleswaram and 'y' be the bus fare to Yeshwanthpur from bus stand

Since the cost of 2 tickets to Malleswaram and 3 tickets to

Yeshwanthpur is Rs. 46; we have

2x +3y = 46 -------------------(1)

Again the cost of  3 tickets to Malleswaram and 5tickets to Yeshwanthpur is Rs. 74; we have

3x + 5y = 74 -----------------(2)

(1) ×3  →   6x + 9y = 138 -----------------(3)

(2) ×2 →  6x + 10y = 148 ----------------(4)

(4) - (3) → 10y - 9y = 148 -138

y = 10

Substituting the value of 'y' in equation (1) we get,

2x + 30 = 46

2x = 16

x = 8

∴Bus fare from bus stand to Malleswaram = Rs. 8

Bus fare from bus stand to Yeshwanthpur  = Rs. 10
