Given : From a cafeteria 4-course lunch menu,

I can choose 3 varieties of soup,

5 types of seafood,

4 kinds of side dish and 2 types of salad.

To Find :

How many different types of dish are possible if soup and seafood must be included with each order

Solution:

soup and seafood must be included

Hence person can choose 2 course , 3 course and 4 course meal

2 course meal

soup and seafood  = 3 * 5 = 15 options

3 course meal

soup and seafood  +  side dish = 3 * 5 * 4 = 60 options

soup and seafood  + salad = 3 * 5 * 2 = 30 options

4 course meal

3 * 5  * 4 * 2  = 120

Total options = 15 + 60 + 30 + 120

= 225

There are 225 options  if soup and seafood must be included with each order
