Given :

  • A circular sheet of radius 3 cm is removed from a circular sheet of radius 5 cm

To find :

  • Area of the remaining part

Solution :

According to the question,

Area of remaining sheet = Area of circular sheet of radius 5 cm - area of circular sheet with radius of 3 cm

= Π(5)² - Π(3)²

= 25Π - 9Π

= 16Π

•°• Required area = 16Π

More to know :

  • Area of circle = Π(radius of the circle)²
  • Circumference of the circle = 2Π(radius)

Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Radius (R) of sheet = 5cm
  • Radius (r) of circle = 3 cm

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Area of remaining sheet

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Let the radius of circular sheet be R and radius of circle removed be r

then,

We know that,

  • Area of Circle = π

Hence,

Area of Remaining sheet = π - π

π - π

π( - )

π(R + r) (R - r)

π(5 + 3)(5 - 3)

π(8)(2)

16π

22/7 × 16

352/16

50.28 cm²

Hence,

  • Area of remaining sheet = 50.28cm²
