From a circular sheet of radius 4 cm, a circle of radius 3 cm is cut out,
as shown in attachment.
Area of remaining sheet = Area of whole sheet - Area of sheet cut out
= Area of circle of radius 4 cm - Area of circle of radius 3 cm
As we know
Area of circle =
Where r is the radius of respective circle
Thus area of remaining sheet =
Taking π common
Area of remaining sheet = π(16-9) = 7π
or
(because π = 22/7)
= 22 cm^2
Thus area of remaining sheet = 22 cm^2
