From a corner of a jewellery shop, Priya moves 6 steps towards north and 8 steps towards east and reaches diagonally from the corner of the shop. From the same point Seema moves 8 steps towards east and 6 steps towards north and reaches the same point. Taking east-west direction as x-axis, north-south direction as y-axis and starting point as origin. a) Write the coordinates of the point at which Priya and Seema meet together. b) A third person Madhu moves straight towards the point where Priya and Seema meet .Has Madhu travelled less distance? c) Find the distance covered by Madhu.

given AB = 8 cm

BC = 6 cm

we need to find AC

by Pythagoras theorem ,

AC^(2) = AB^(2) + BC^(2)

= 8 ^ 2 + 6 ^ 2

= 64 + 36

= 100

= √ 100

10 cm .
