from a cylinder having diameter 14 cm,a cone of equal radius and height 24 cm is removed out. find the curved Surface area and total surface area of remaining part.

(* means multiplication) and (CSA means curved surface area)

Now,

In Cylinder;

d=14cm ,r=7cm ,h=24cm , curved surface area= 2πrh

In Cone;

d=14cm ,r=7cm ,l(slant height)=√h²+r² =√24²+7² =√576+49 =√625 =25

Curved surface area= πrl

Solution:

Total surface area= CSA of cone+ CSA of cylinder+ base of cylinder

= πrl +2πrh +πr²

= πr(l+2h+r)

= πr(25+2*24+7)

= πr(25+48+7)

=πr(80)

=22/7*7*80

=22*80

=1760cm²
