Given : a frequency distribution table if N = 100,

h = 10 c.f. = 38 f= 18 L = 50

To Find  : Median

(1) 56.67

(2) 55.76

(3) 56.76

(4) 55.87

Solution:

L = 50

h = 10

f = 18

cf = 38

N = 100

Median = L   + h x ( N/2 -  cf) / f

=> Median = 50  +  10  ( 50 - 38)/18

=> Median = 50 + 10(12/18)

=> Median = 50 +  20/3

=> Median = 50 + 6.67

=> Median = 56.67

correct alternative.  option 1  = 56.67
