The average weight of the two students who leave the group is 78.75 kgs .

Explanation:

Formula : Sum of n observations = n x Average of n observations

Given : From a group of 12 students with average weight being 72.5 kgs.

Then, Sum of weight of 12 students = 12 x 72.5 = 870 kgs

Because the two leave, the average of the group falls to 71.25 kgs.

After two leaves ,  Sum of weight of 10 students = 10 x 71.25 = 712.5 kgs.

Now , The sum of weight of two students who leave the group = Sum of weight of 12 students- Sum of weight of 10 students

= 870- 712.5  kgs

= 157.5 kgs

Average weight of the two students who leave the group= (Sum of weight ) ÷2

= 157.5 ÷2 = 78.75 kgs

Hence, the average weight of the two students who leave the group is 78.75 kgs .
