It is given that from a group of 25 children, 10 boys and 5 gals went for a picnic.

i) Number of children who did not go for the picnic.

Total number of children who went for the picnic = 10 + 5 = 15

Number of children who did not go for the picnic = 25 - 15 = 10

ii) The ratio of children who went for the picnic to the children who did not go for the picnic.

Number of children who went for the picnic = 15

Number of children who did not go for the picnic = 10

Ratio = 15/10 = 3:2

iii) The ratio of total children to the number of boys who went for the picnic.

Number of boys who went for picnic = 10 boys

Ratio = 25/10 = 5:2

iv) The ratio of total children to the number of gals who went for the picnic.

Number of gals who went for the picnic = 5

Ratio = 25/5 = 5:1

v) Which ratio is greater among part (ii) and part (iii)?

Ratio of part (ii)  = 3:2

Ratio of  part (iii) = 5:2

Therefore among part (ii) and part (iii), part (iii) has the higher ratio.
