The length of the remaining log is 3 1⁄10 m .

Given :

Length of the log = 11m

Length of the pieces which were cut = 23/5 m and 33/10 m

To find :

The length of the remaining log

Solution :

Total length of log that were cut = (23/5 + 33/10) m

= (23*2 + 33*1)/10

= ( 46 + 33)/10

= 79/10

= 7.9 m

= 7 9⁄10 m

Hence, length of the remaining log = Total length of log - length of log that has been cut = 11 - 79/10

= (10*11 - 79*1) /10

= (110 - 79)/10

= 31/10

= 3 1⁄10

Hence, the length of the remaining log is 3 1⁄10 m .
