From a mixture of 100 litre of milk and water which contain 70% milk and 30% water some amount is taken out and replaced with water. The recultant mixture contains equal amount of milk and water. Find the amount of mixture taken out in first step.​

Let x be the amount (in L) taken out in the first step.

So now left is (100 - x) L mixture.

So now milk is (7/10)*(100-x) L and water is (3/10)*(100-x) L and then x L water is added as x L mixture was taken out first.

Final milk amount = water amount.

Therefore, (7/10)*(100-x) = (3/10)*(100-x) + x

x = 200/7 = 28.57 L
