A pack has 52 cards

13 hearts , 13 clubs 13 spade and 13 diamonds

There are 26 black and 26 red cards

There are 12 face cards ( 3 in each)

Four cards are removed.

So total cards 48

12 hearts , 12 clubs,12 spades and 12 diamonds

24 red and 24 black cards

10 face cards remain.

Given that

a) P(red card) = total number of red cards / total number of cards

P(red card) = 24 / 48 = 1/2

b) P(face card) = total number of face cards/total number of cards = 10/48 = 5/24

c) P(a spade) =total of spades/ total number of cards = 12/48 = 1/4

Thank u

Hope this helps you

Answer:

a) 1/2

b) 5/24

c)1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of cards = 48 ...... (52-4)

probability of an event = no. of outcomes of event / Total no. of outcomes.

a) No. of red cards after the removal of the 4 cards : 24   ..... (26 - 2)

P(A) = 24/48 = 1/2

b) No. of face cards = 12.... after the removal of the cards : 10

P(B) = 10/48 = 5/24

c) No. of spades = 13 ....... after the removal : 12

P(C) = 12/48 = 1/4

hope it helps ya !!
