Let O be the centre of the given circle and let P be a point such that OP = 10 cm.

length of tangent PT is 8 cm

the radius is OT be r

tangent make 90° at point of contact with the radius

we get a right angle triangle OPT

by using Pythagoras theorem

(op)2= (pt)2+(r)2

(10)2= (8)2+ (r)2

(r)2= 100-64

r= root(36)

r= 6

therefore the radius of circle is 6 cm

hope you get your answer
