from a point on the ground the angles of elevation of the bottom and the top of a water tank kept on the top of the 30 M high building are 30° and 45° respectively find the height of the water tank

Height of building  L = 30 m

Angle from top of building   theta = 30 deg

Angle from top of tank     A = 45 deg

Let the height of tank be x

tan theta = L/ B

tan 30 = 30 / B

B = 30 m

Now

tan A = x + L / B

x + L = tan 45 * 20

x  =  30 ( root 3 - 1)
