  1. Draw a line AB = 6cm, take any point C on it.
  2. Take C as a center, draw an arc XY.
  3. Taking same radius draw two arcs from X and Y and let them intersect.
  4. Join CP and extend.
  5. On CP take point P such that, CP = 5.5 cm.
  6. Again from P, draw a perpendicular line PQ.
  7. Hence PQ is parallel to AB.
