From a rectangular region ABCD with AB=20cm,a right triangle AED with AE=9cm and DE=12cm,is cut off. On the other end, taking BC as diameter, a semicircle is added on outside the region. Find the area of the shaded region. (Use π=22/7).​

ON APPLYING PYTHAGORAS THEORUM

AD=25cm

Area of rect ABCD = l×b=25×20=500cm^2

Area of triangle =1/2×b×h

for finding height draw a perpindicular from point E to line AD

#height = by pythagoras theorum

Area of semicircle= 1/2 πr^2

where pie=22/7

r =BC/2=25/2=12.5Cm

area of shaded portion =area ofABCD-area ofAED+ Area of semicirle.
