The area of the remaining sheet after cutting out 50 circular badges from the rectangular plastic sheet is 307 cm².

Step-by-step explanation:

The dimension of the rectangular sheet of plastic:

Length, l = 40 cm

Breadth, b = 25 cm

Area of the rectangular sheet of plastic = l × b = 40 × 25 = 1000 cm²

The dimension of the each circular badges:

Diameter = 4.2 cm

Radius, r = \frac{Diameter}{2} = \frac{4.2}{2} = 2.1 cm

Since it is given that 50 such circular badges are cut out from the rectangular sheet

Area of 50 circular badges = 50 × πr² = 50×\frac{22}{7}×2.1×2.1 = 693 cm²

Thus,

The area of the remaining sheet is given by,

= [Area of the rectangular sheet of plastic] - [Area of 50 circular badges]

= 1000 cm² - 693 cm²

= 307 cm²

Answer:

area of triangle=l×b

40×25=1000

radius =diameter/2=2.1

area of circle=pi.r²

50×22/7×2.1×2.1

=693

1000-693=307cm²
