Let m1 = 6 kg

m2 = 40 kg
v2 = 108 km/h
v1 = ?

we change , km/ h to m/sec

Then,
108 km/h = 30 m/sec

According to Newton's second law of motion ,

m1v1 = - m2v2

6*v1 = -(40*30)
v1 = -1200/6
v1 = -200 m/sec

Hence the recoil velocity will be 200 m/sec
