Answer:

given... mass of bullet m1.. 100 g... 1 kg

... mass of rifle m2.... 5 kg

.. initial velocity of bullet u1... 0

... initial velocity of rifle u2... 0

... final velocity... v1.... 50 m/s

let v2 be recoil velocity of rifle

then by law of conservation of momentum

m1u1 +m2u2=m1v1+m2v2

OR

v2=-m1v1/m2

=-1×50/5

v2=10m/s

hope it helps

Answer:

0.1

Explanation:

Mass of rifle= 5kg ( m1)

Mass of bullet= 100g convert in kg i.e. 0.01 kg ( m2)

intial velocity of both obj is 0

final velocity of bullet= 50m/ s

final velocity of rifle we have to find

now,

using law of conservation of momentum

m1 u1 +m2 u2 = m1v1+ m2v2

putting the values in equation

5*0+0.01*0= 5*v + 0.01 * 50

0= 5v + 0.5

v= - 0.5 / 5

v= 0.1

therefore recoil velocity is 0.1
