Answer:

2.85 meters rope if left.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :- Initial length of rope = 5m. Two pieces of length 2/5 m and 7/4 m has been cut off.

To Find :- Length of rope that is left.

Solution :-

Initially, the length of rope = 5 meters.

The 1st piece that was cut off was 2/5 meters = 0.4 meters.

The 2nd piece which was cut off was = 7/4 meters = 1.75 meters.

The total length that was cut off was = ( 0.4 + 1.75 ) meters

                                                             = 2.15 meters.

Length of rope left after cutting the pieces = ( 5 - 2.15 ) meters

                                                                       = 2.85 meters.

Therefore, 2.85 meters of rope is left.
