Given -

  • From a rope of length 40m, pieces of equal size are cut.
  • Length of one piece is 10/3 metres.

To find -

  • Number of pieces.

Solution -

We have length of the rope is 40m and length of one piece is 10/3 m. If all pieces are equal in length, then all pieces are of 10/3 metres.

  • Let the number of pieces be x.

According to the question

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{10}{3} \times x = 40}

\tt\dashrightarrow{x = 40 \times \dfrac{3}{10}}

\tt\dashrightarrow{x = \cancel{40} \times \dfrac{3}{\cancel{10}} }

\tt\dashrightarrow{x = 4 \times 3}

\bf\dashrightarrow{x = 12}

Hence,

  • The number of pieces are 12.
