Answer:

Total surface area of remaining solid is 1055.04 centimeter square.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : From a solid cylinder of height 20cm and diameter 12cm a conical cavity of height 8cm and radius 6cm is hollowed out.

To find : The TSA of remaining solid?

Solution :

Height of cylinder h=20 cm

Diameter of cylinder = 12cm

Radius of the cylinder = 6 cm

Height of cone H=8 cm

Radius of cone R=6 cm

Lateral height of the cone is

l=\sqrt{H^2+R^2}\\l=\sqrt{8^2+6^2}\\l=\sqrt{64+36}\\l=\sqrt{100}\\l=10

Area of remaining solid =CSA of cylinder+ Area of base of cylinder + CSA of cone

A=2\pi rh+\pi r^2+\pi Rl

A=\pi(2\times 6\times 20+6^2+6\times10

A=\pi(240+36+60)

A=(3.14)(336)

A=1055.04cm^2

Therefore, Total surface area of remaining solid is 1055.04 centimeter square.
