from a solid cylinder of height 24cm and 10cm the two conical cavities of same radius as that of the cylinder are hollowed out if the height of each conical cavity is half the height of cylinder find the total surface area of the remaining cylinder​

a solid cylinder of height 24 cm and diameter 10 cm

radius  = 5 cm

Height of cone = 24/2 = 12 cm

Lateral height of cone = √5² + 12² = 13 cm

t.s.a. of remaining cylinder  =  CSA of cylinder + 2 * CSA of cone

= 2π * 5 *  24  + 2 * π * 5 * 13

= π( 240 + 130)

= 370 π

using π  = 3.14

=370 * 3.14

= 1161.8 cm²
