From a square cardboard of area 196 cm2 ,a circle with biggest area is cut out. Find the area of the remaining cardboard.

Answer:

Area of square = a²

196 = a²

Square root both sides

a = 14 cm

So biggest circle is cut with radius of 7 cm

Area of circle = π to

= 22*7*7/7

= 154 cm²

Remaining cardboard = area of cardboard - area of circle

= 196 - 154

= 42 cm²
