LET: u = 8m/s
$s = ut + \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2}$
$30 = 8t + 5 {t}^{2}$
$5 {t}^{2} + 8t - 30 = 0$
t2 = 1.7s
t1 + t2 = 0.8 + 1.7 = 2.5
